Joe Brita

Joe serves as Chief Underwriter for National Brokerage Atlantic. In that role, he oversees the firm’s underwriting and case management operations, underwriting strategy, case advocacy, carrier relationships, and complex case execution. Joe works closely with advisors and carriers to navigate underwriting challenges, structure advanced planning opportunities, and help secure favorable outcomes for clients across a broad range of life insurance cases.

Prior to joining National Brokerage Atlantic, Joe spent nearly 30 years in brokerage underwriting and new business operations. He began his career with Ash Brokerage in 1998 and ultimately served as Executive Vice President of New Business & Underwriting, where he led underwriting strategy and operational support for a team of more than 175 professionals. For the past decade, Joe has also operated Brita Underwriting Consultants, providing underwriting advocacy and consulting services to advisors nationwide. He leverages longstanding relationships with chief underwriters, medical directors, and reinsurance organizations to assist advisors with complex and impaired-risk cases.

Joe graduated with distinction from Purdue University with a degree in Business Management and minors in International Business and Management Information Systems. He and his wife, Laura, reside on their family farm in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they are actively involved in youth development through faith, education, and athletics.
